November storm wreaks havoc

Last Saturday morning we had a bit of a storm in Pang. Two roofs were torn off, plywood sheets were darting through the air, a heavy truck was flipped, five boats were turned over at the harbor - plus a lot of other damage all over town.

Officially, the wind was gusting to 131-132 km/h. That was not measured in the windiest parts of town towards north-east. It can be easily estimated that the wind was reaching up to 160 km/h in the strong guests, maybe even more. If a 3000 pound truck flips over in the wind, that's no joke.

Our house was shaking and our boat was thrown onto the road. We were lucky that it didn't get damaged. There's an exploded shed lying next to our house and we don't know where it came from.

Now things are pretty much back to normal. The Hamlet is cleaning the streets and a loader will come and move your carnage around for free.

Below is a glimpse of what happened in town.
